THE CHARLESTON STEWARDSHIP AWARD

City of Charleston Stewardship award

James Meadors and Terry Bell-Aby were awarded the City of Charleston Stewardship Award by Mayor Riley on February the 23rd, in recognition of outstanding service to the Citizens of Charleston, and commitment to the preservation, conservation and enhancement of the City through the City of Charleston Green plan.

Preservation is at the core of the concept that “the greenest building is the one that is already built.” Charlestonians were among the most forward thinking Americans when they took measures to preserve and protect their heritage as early as the 1800s. Meadors is taking a leadership role and has made a strong commitment to employing and encouraging sustainable building practices.
