Construction site supervisor

Meadors Inc. is looking for a Site Supervisor to join our Construction Workshop.

Located in Charleston, SC, Meadors is a design, preservation, architecture, and construction firm established in 1984. We are comprised of six workshops--Architecture, Construction, Conservation and Preservation Planning, Design Services, Cabinetry and Millwork, and Estate Management and Maintenance. We are a passionate and diverse group committed to performing in a collaborative environment at the highest-level.

We are a looking for a passionate individual to join our team. Our ideal candidate would have experience in high-end residential construction and historic preservation/restoration.

The responsibilities of this position include working directly with our Director of Construction, interacting with clients, coordinating field and office activities, managing project budget, project estimating and scheduling, quality control, and coordinating subcontractors.
This is a salaried, full-time position with benefits.

Director of Construction

Character is established by what you do, not what you say.

We are looking for a person with the right character, skill, and experience to commit themselves to lead our established Construction team. This is a people job with a material outcome measured by production excellence and relationship building.

To be open, we have been searching for the right candidate for a long time – someone with the experience and technical skillset, as well as, the passion, tenacity, and commitment to excel in this position and with our six Workshop structure as a whole.

WOODWORKER

Meadors Inc. has an immediate opening for an experienced Woodworker to join our Cabinetry and Millwork Workshop.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Work with hand and machine tools to fabricate various woodworking products for our projects.

·         Milling rough cut lumber to specified final size.

·         Understanding and experience setting up and working with hand and machine tools, such as a planer, jointer, crosscut, wide-belt sander, shaper, molder, etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS and/or EXPERIENCE:

·         5 years of experience in woodworking

·         Must have a passion for Woodworking with great attention to detail

·         Positive attitude

·         Self-motivated and responsible

·         Complete tasks in a timely manner

Full-time position with hourly compensation based on experience.  Offered benefits for full-time employees include paid vacation and health, vision, and dental insurance.

CABINET MAKER

Meadors Inc. has an immediate opening for an experienced Cabinetmaker to join our Cabinetry and Millwork Workshop.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Fabricate and assemble custom cabinetry with an understanding of the details required to incorporate appliances, plumbing, and electric

·         Read and interpret architectural drawings and blueprints

·         Operate and set-up machines, such as CNC

·         Multi-task and work under time-constraints effectively

REQUIRED SKILLS and/or EXPERIENCE:

·         5 years of experience in Cabinetmaking, custom, high-end preferred

·         Must be able to read Shop Drawings

·         CNC and CAD experience preferred

·         Passion and Attention to Detail are essential

·         Positive attitude to work in a team environment

·         Self-motivated and responsible

·         Complete tasks in a timely manner

·         Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Meadors is in search of passionate applicants dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge.  Internships with Meadors often include experiences that transcend any singular workshop, allowing individuals to view our design/build process from multiple vantage points.  Through project based learning, interns will be presented with the same challenges as our designers and artisans working as a valuable member of our team.
